Privacy Policy

ScaleHaus Diecast (“ScaleHaus,” “we,” “us”) is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This policy covers the website at scalehaus.ae and any order you place with us through it. By using the site or placing an order, you’re agreeing to what’s below. If anything here doesn’t make sense, email us at cs@scalehaus.ae and we’ll explain it properly rather than pointing you back at this page.

Information we collect

We only collect what we actually need to get a model car to your door and support you afterwards.

• Contact and order details — name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, and what you ordered. You give us this directly at checkout.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor and buy-now-pay-later partner (Tabby). We never see or store your full card number; our checkout is run by Shopify, which is PCI-DSS compliant.
• Account and wishlist data — if you save items to your Garage or wishlist, we keep a record of that against your device or account so it’s there next time you visit.
• Communications — anything you send us by email or Instagram DM, including sourcing requests for models you’re hunting for.
• Basic device and usage data — browser type, approximate location (from IP address), pages viewed and how you got to the site. This comes from standard web server and Shopify checkout logging, and from the Meta advertising pixel described under Cookies below.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of essential cookies — mainly one that remembers what’s in your cart between visits — without which the site simply wouldn’t function. When you reach checkout, that page is hosted directly by Shopify, and Shopify runs its own checkout cookies and fraud-prevention scripts there as part of operating the payment flow; that part is governed by Shopify’s own privacy policy, not this one.

The storefront also uses the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to measure how our advertising performs and to show relevant ads. It records the pages and products you view, items you add to your cart, and when you start and complete a purchase, and it uses cookies (such as _fbp and _fbc) set by this site. When an order is completed, we also send Meta the order value, the items purchased, and your email address, phone number and name in hashed (one-way encrypted) form, so Meta can match the sale to the ad that led to it. Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy. You can limit this in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, or block the cookies in your browser; if you want us to stop, email cs@scalehaus.ae.

How we use your information

• To process, pack, ship and support your order.
• To reply when you contact us, including tracking down a specific or sold-out release you’ve asked us to find.
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates and, only if you opt in, news about new arrivals or restocks.
• To keep records we’re legally required to keep — UAE tax and commercial law require us to retain invoicing and transaction records for a set number of years.
• To detect and prevent fraud, and to keep the site secure.

We don’t sell your personal information to anyone, and we don’t use it for anything beyond what’s listed here, which includes measuring our advertising as described above.

Who we share it with

Running a store means a few other companies necessarily touch your data on our behalf. We only share what each of them needs to do their specific job:

• Shopify — our commerce platform, which hosts checkout, processes payments and stores order records.
• Payment and BNPL providers — your chosen card processor, PayPal, and Tabby, to actually take payment.
• Shipping carriers (Aramex, DHL, FedEx and similar) — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver your order and give you tracking.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — page and product activity, and completed-order details with your email, phone and name hashed, to measure and improve our advertising.
• Legal or regulatory authorities — only if we’re actually required to by UAE law.

Some of these providers operate servers outside the UAE. Where that happens, it’s covered by their own security and compliance standards (Shopify and most major payment providers maintain internationally recognised certifications for exactly this reason).

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoicing records for as long as UAE tax and commercial law requires — generally five years. Wishlist and browser cart data is kept only as long as it’s useful to you and is cleared automatically after a period of inactivity.

Your rights

Under UAE’s Personal Data Protection Law, and equivalent rights if you’re ordering from the EU, UK or elsewhere, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you,
• correct it if it’s wrong or out of date,
• delete it, other than what we’re legally required to keep for tax purposes,
• stop sending you marketing at any time, no reason needed.

Email cs@scalehaus.ae for any of the above and we’ll action it directly — no portal, no ticket number, just a reply from a person.

Security

Checkout runs entirely on Shopify’s encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure — the same system used by hundreds of thousands of stores. We never see, handle or store your full card details ourselves. No system is completely immune to risk, but we keep access to your order data limited to what’s needed to run the shop.

Children’s privacy

ScaleHaus sells collector-grade scale models aimed at adult collectors — see the product notice on our Terms & Conditions page. The site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data in any material way, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. We won’t make a change that reduces your rights without making that obvious.
